Parihaka

Kia Ora Readers,

Today in my class we learned all about Parihaka. It all started when Tohu Kakahi and Te Whiti o Rongomai found Parihaka. Tohu and and Te Whiti wanted peace so they put down their weapons and wanted peace for their people. On November 1881 the goverment didn't like what Tohu and Te Whiti were doing so the goverment arrested many of the men in Parihaka, including Tohu and Te Whiti. In 2003, Parihaka were visited by important people like Martin Luther King Jnr, Mahatma Ghandi and the Japanese peace movement. That's all for today thank you for looking at my blog and make sure to comment. What do you know about Parihaka?

  1. Hi Sovereign it is Elektra today I look at your blog post about Parihaka. I like that you have a picture of the Parihaka mountain and the village.
I like that you have information about Parihaka on your blog post about what you learnt about it so other people no about what Parihaka is.Next time you cloud say that Parihaka is a mountain caked Taranaki in New Zealand on your blog post. Is there a day to celebrate Parihaka?.
