Kia Ora Readers,
Today in my class we learned all about Parihaka. It all started when Tohu Kakahi and Te Whiti o Rongomai found Parihaka. Tohu and and Te Whiti wanted peace so they put down their weapons and wanted peace for their people. On November 1881 the goverment didn't like what Tohu and Te Whiti were doing so the goverment arrested many of the men in Parihaka, including Tohu and Te Whiti. In 2003, Parihaka were visited by important people like Martin Luther King Jnr, Mahatma Ghandi and the Japanese peace movement. That's all for today thank you for looking at my blog and make sure to comment. What do you know about Parihaka?
